Carol WilcoxThis piece evokes the spirit of gypsy-like qualities with its open right angle weave stitch, surface bezels and strung paths leading and joining the group together. The flexibility of the piece allows it to flow around the neck and the crystal button in front enhances the closure.

Melanie PotterPining Over You is a lariat and earring set with the central theme being the pine cone. The pine cone is a three-dimensional embellished structure created in seed beads using peyote and chevron chain stitches. It has a bezeled jewel at the tip in charlottes and seed beads. The lariat neck strap is swathe in pointed needles created using chevron chain stitch in seed beads and magatamos. The opposite end of the lariat features a pine cone tassel with fringe ending with tiny bezeled deep-set jewels. The pine cone earrings use the same techniques as the lariat in a diminutive size with chain attaching them to an ear wire.

*BONUS WORKSHOP - This optional bonus workshop is designed and taught by Melanie Potter. The earrings will be taught in this workshop and many of the techniques for the lariat will be gained from learning the earrings.

This workshop takes place on Wednesday, July 21st (Session I) or July 28th (Session II), 2010. Tuition for this workshop is free plus the kit fee** for students attending Beads on the Vine. Spaces in this workshop are limited and will be reserved on a first-come-first-serve basis. All reserved students will receive confirmation information and details prior to the event.

**The kit includes all supplies needed to create the lariat and earring set. It will be offered in a variety of color palettes.
